Volbeat - March 14th - House of Blues Las Vegas
Review By Just Dug - Pix by Big Mex
I descended the stairs into the House of Blues just in time to hear Danko Jones hit there last note and say up next Volbeat. Bad information on my part as I got set times mixed up. So I can't review any warm up bands that night.
This is my third time seeing Volbeat and the other two were very good but this time was GREAT! These guys and Chevelle are my two favorite "newer" bands to see live (meaning Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, AC/DC being "older" bands). The energy they bring can be felt throughout the crowd.
It is amazing with Volbeat singer Michael Poulsen goes into a little medly of songs as diverse as Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Rammstein & Judas Priest. (If he ever wanted to go on the road as Volbeat - Johnny Cash cover band they could nail those shows)
They have a new CD coming out soon and played a track off that and I can hardly wait until the CD comes out (will be playing their new single on KOMP in a few days so listen up)
BE SMART IF you get a chance to see Volbeat GO TO THE SHOW!!
