Kid Rock Review By Just Dug

Kid Rock at the House of Blues, January 28th
by Just Dug (Pictures by Big Mex)

First let me state, I am not a Kid Rock.  Nothing against him but have never owned any music by Kid Rock and pretty much am only familiar with the hits.  But I did see Kid Rock about 12 or so years ago open for Monster Magnet at the old Joint and thought his live show was good, so when a friend said lets go I thought sure why not.

I am SO glad I did!

Perfect timing descending into the House of Blues as I had no interest in seeing the opening DJ act, grabbed a drink and made my way to the side of the floor in the back and the curtain pops off and Kid Rock is on stage opening with Devil Without a Cause.  And so it starts almost two hours of a great high energy show.

The HOB stage was filled with musicians that added so much to the music and weather it was dropping in some of Rush's Tom Sawyer to a song or Lynyrd Skynyrd the time flew by and as amazed as I am to write this put on one hell of a show.

Would I highly anticipate the next Kid Rock CD, the answer is no.  Would I highly anticipate going to another Kid Rock show the answer is yes!

I think Big Mex summed it up best when he said to me "i think he is the most unoriginal artist, but he has a great live show"

BTW Moment (Big Mex LOVES when I steal the BTW moment):  The House of Blues consistantly pours one of the best rum and diet cokes of any venue in Las Vegas.  Nice when you can actually taste the rum in your drink.
